kendall lakes congregation (miami fl usa), partook of the emblems.
he is an elder(40), his wife and their 2 daughters (21 &19), all 4 are also regular pioneers.
another 6 pioneers in that congregation partook of the emblems..
Maybe Jehovah got mad at the first 144000 and decided to throw them all out and start over with a new batch?

my wife & i are house sitting , interstate , for a freind who is overseas , near a former congregation we attended for the best part of 20 years .the last kh we attended was in `93 ?
for a funeral.
yesterday i was in line at an atm when this woman walked past me and went into the chemists.she looked familiar so i waited for her to come out and said are you b....?
It would be great if that 93 year old mom could see ttatt just from looking at who cares for her but the saturated brainwashed always make excuses for the self sacrificing holy doorknockers!
Thank you for posting, Smiddy

In service I've heard these conversations when someone starts out, "Guess who I ran into yesterday - So and So!"
Someone else pipes up, "Oh, you're kidding! I'm pretty sure she's disf/disassoc!"
The first person says, "Well she never mentioned it - I can't believe she would stand there talking to me and not let me know that!"
Then everyone chimes in: No WONDER she got disf - what a terrible person! OH she's probably longing to talk to a JW, she didn't want you to shun her! ---etc.
I know it's nobody's business what my history and choices are and I don't have to be defined by their rules. But with these people you won't have a normal conversation because all they can think of to talk about is their religion. There is no doubt they will bring it up because they won't bring ANYTHING else up. LOL!

I really liked letting her know that i am out of reach of her lectures and advice that I never asked for. These sisters think they have a bounden duty to jump with both hooves into anything you say that they can use for "teaching and reproving." They really think that shows God how loving they are but it's a gigantic pain.

It went well. An older sister saw me in the store and called out to me. She's a widow; her husband was an elder. I have not seen her for at least five years. She smiled and asked how we're all doing. I said Listen, you don't want to be talking to me. She said, Why, what's wrong? I said Nothing is wrong, at least as far as I'm concerned, but just to be honest with you, I'm OUT.
She said, "Well, I didn't know that - I'll be waiting to see you come back." I said, Thank you, but I won't be coming back. She turned and took a step away from me before I finished speaking.
But I was so happy. I have had that appeasing, tip toe-ing on eggshells fear of offending JWs for years and have kind of dreaded running in to any of them. Today when I saw her, I just felt confident and calm, as if I was giving the time of day!
It is fun and relaxing to feel so free to be myself!

hey all - i was wondering if we can use this thread as an ongoing one to detail branch closings of the last 5 years or so and any moving forward?
i had a discussion with some members of my family, who are still dyed in the wool jws, and they didn't believe me about numerous branch closures in recent years.
i was trying to look up some threads that talked about it here (on my phone), but couldn't find a thread quickly.. thanks in advance!.
Went back and read it again, they only mention a few branches specifically, saying Technology advanced now to where they can serve the world with fewer branches so they can use fewer personnel and fewer facilities. But then some locations are getting renovated and expanded. Lotta big money moving around the world.

On Jw dot org they have an article about branch dedications, talking about new buildings and/or expansions in the countries of Georgia, Korea, Myanmar, Liberia and Moldova. I think these were all in the last couple of years, just looking at the article date.

when i worked for a book store i became familiar with beka text books for home school.. i spoke with the mothers who came looking for them.
i realized something didn't smell right.. then, i realized there are a couple of generations of fundamentalist kids who have had no exposure.
to the scientific method, science facts or any conversancy with physics or biology or history as a result of beka textbooks.. in a nutshell here is the situation:.
What I've seen of hs-ing is mostly really awful. One great example I do have is my cousin in TX who went to college, married a college guy, schooled four kids at home who are successful, the youngest is a WP grad and Lt in the 101st Airborne. But they had no truck with WT. I'm the only idiot in the fam that went that route.
Going in service with homeschooling moms with the grumpy kids in the backseat surrounded by book bags (wt lit and secular school books) was unpleasant to say the least. Those parents were placing no importance on their kids getting an education. Those kids today are floundering around with no clue, living at home and unable to support themselves.
If kids are doing well schooling at home then that is terrific. But if you try it and the kids are making no progress, then get enrolled in public or private school. My grandkid is enjoying middle school and would not want to be homeschooled. She knows some hs kids who want to go to public school so much but their Jw parents won't let them.
